Publicly supported library service is based upon the
First Amendment right of free expression. Leon County maintains a library
environment that is conducive to all users' exercise of their constitutionally
protected right to receive information. In order to protect all library users’
rights, the Board of County Commissioners has formulated the following policies
on library usage, accessibility, and content:
Here are some guidelines for parents from the Youth and Children's Services
area:
In the Technology/Media area, we are learning that electronic resources
provide unprecedented opportunities to expand the scope of information available
to users. Libraries and librarians wish to provide access to information presenting
all points of view. Many issues are being dealt with in the growing and
expanding computer / internet arena. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public
Library will address the problems...and the fixes...as they arise:
